The Curse of Intelligent Children
My daughter Rebecca, now 11, is walking with me into Kohl's. "First order of business is I have to pee," I say to her. "Me too," she replies.
"Great minds think alike," I say.
Rebecca gives me a sly sidelong look. "So.....are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Probably not." Leading up to asking me for an advance on her allowance, I think.
"Then one of us isn't a great mind, is she?"
A whole summer of this looms. Pray for me.
I've thought so many times of your "Bribery 101" story. I learned that my oldest, age 8, recently bribed one sister, almost 4, not to tell who put lipgloss on the wall. Little did she know that her baby sister, age 2 and usually unable to comment on these issues, would so readily give her up with those simple words, "Emma did".
It's going to be a long summer.

Love it!
My nearly 11 yo daughter, as we walk into Kohl's or similar such place, say "Remember Mom, you have to stay focused on the task at hand."
